Reasons Why You Should Buy My New Book

kinkywriter Blog

You may have noticed that I published a new book recently.

Frankly, I’m not sure how you couldn’t have noticed because there’s literally a huge banner announcing it on every single page on the site!

But for those who might otherwise be a little preoccupied when they visit … I do understand because hey, that’s why I write this stuff, too! … I thought that I would take a little extra time here in this month’s editorial to talk about the new book because I’m really excited about it and the next things that I’ve got in store for the future, too.

Fair warning – I’m also going to try and sell you on buying a copy for yourself, but I suppose the title of this post probably already gave that one away…

I thought it might be easiest to go through these thoughts in the form of a list, so here it is – the list of reasons why you should buy my new book…

1. I’m really excited, both about this book and about new books for the future.

Believe it or not, I’ve actually been writing erotica for about 5 years now. I started dabbling with some of my earliest stories back in 2009, even though this site didn’t spring up until the first part of 2010. So I’ve been doing this for a little while, and I’m kind of excited to see where it goes from here now that I’m branching out into some other mediums to share my stories.

For one, though I’ve published some print books in my other genres, I’ve never actually published an e-book before, so the whole process for getting this first collection off the ground was very new to me, but at the same time it’s also intriguing because it’s a very different world than traditional print publishing – my time putting the actual book together was still a fraction of what it normally takes me for a print book, and as a result the selling price ends up being a bit cheaper, too.

It’s really got me thinking about things I want to do in the future because it’s clearly a lot easier to get shorter works out there without spending six months just writing it all first! Don’t worry – I have no plans to stop anything that I’m posting here on this site for free, and I’m certainly not going to inundate Amazon with dozens of short stories for $0.99 a piece because it looks like there’s already way too much of that as it is!

But I am thinking about using e-books to branch out a bit and share different types of stories than I normally post here – maybe some longer novelettes following different stories, leading up to an actual, full-size kinky novel, and definitely more compilations like this one that I just published.

2. I’m really proud of this book.

Truth be told, I’ve been writing the stories that went into this book since January, and in a way it really drove me to appreciate how things work with this website because often times I’d finish up a really great story and I’d be so excited to hurry up and share it right away … and yet I couldn’t because I needed to save it for the book!

A lot of hard work, and good, quality work went into writing the stories that are in this collection, and I really tried to spread them out across all of the different topics that I write about here to give readers a better idea of what they can find if they wander back to the site itself. So I hope that it all shines through because as much as I wanted to hurry up and get it done as soon as possible, ultimately I’m very happy with the results.

3. I want to write more erotica, but right now my budget/schedule doesn’t allow it.

So this is a big one and there’s really no bashful way to put it … I want to start making some money off of these stories to give me the opportunity to write even more.

Walt Disney had a quote that I really love, and it talked about the necessity of making money from his animated movies, which in the early days pretty much funded everything else that his empire wanted to do. He said, “We don’t make movies to make money; we make money to make more movies.”

And that’s kind of where I stand with all of this stuff today. I want to write more because I really enjoy everything that I do here, but right now I have to spend a lot of my time doing other things to make a living that pull time away from being able to write. So it’s pretty simple – the more successful this and future books are for me financially, the more time that I’ll be able to devote to writing erotic stories in the future.

That’s not such a greedy goal, now is it?

4. I want to know what you really think about my writing.

I mean, I can put up as many reader polls and rating systems as I like, but in a way sometimes the best judge of how much people actually like something is whether or not they’re willing to put down a little of their hard-earned cash for it. Sorry, but that’s just how it works.

I love that I’m able to offer so many of my stories here absolutely free on this website and I certainly don’t plan to change that anytime soon, but at the same time I also want to branch out into some other areas and I want to know that people actually enjoy those new avenues that I’d like to explore.

On the upside – e-books are super cheap, and so if we’re talking about the price of a Big Mac to show a little love to your friendly, neighborhood erotica writer to help encourage him to keep writing new stuff … that’d totally be an expense worth spending, right?! 😉

So that’s the gist of what’s in it for me – I think the takeaways are pretty straightforward:

  • New Content – 12 brand new stories you’ll only find in this book
  • Affordably Priced – we’re talking $0.50/story … where else can you find something sexy for fifty cents?!
  • Support Your Favorite Kinky Writer – both financially as well as self-esteem-ally … book sales help me know that you care 🙂

For those who’ve already purchased, I heartily thank you and I promise that I won’t squander a single penny of the opportunity that you give me by purchasing a copy of my first foray into this new realm of endless possibilities!

For those who are thinking about purchasing, you can’t deny that I make some compelling arguments here, so maybe it’s just best to hit that Buy button and see what all of the fuss is about!

And even for those who aren’t thinking about purchasing, no pressure – maybe the next thing that I put out will appeal to you more. No worries.

Please also keep in mind that there are plenty of other ways to help show your support, whether it’s sharing your favorite stories via Facebook and Twitter and Reddit, or telling a kinky friend about my site so that they can check it out for themselves. Sure, buying a book is a great option because you actually get something tangible in return for your money, but I do sincerely mean that anything you can do to help is much appreciated!

So I think I’ve rambled on long enough this month, and besides, some of you have a book to go purchase! Thanks again for reading, and I look forward to sharing lots of other fun and exciting things to come here in the future… 🙂
